Rainbow Folders Editor's Review

As the name suggests, 'Rainbow Folders' involves folders and colors. This program is about colorizing your folder icons. This way you can distinguish, for example, your music folders from the ones containing movies. It generates the new icon color in real time so you don't have to save to see if it looks good. You can choose among three styles: Windows 9X, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.

If you would like to use a certain color later, you don't need to save it because, if it is created with this program, the application can extract it for you. Unfortunately the program doesn't offer a refresh button to update the modifications. In case you create a new folder or change the name of an existing one, the program won't know until it's restarted. When I've tested the program, I've renamed a folder and I tried to change its color but an error message popped out.

The user interface is pretty easy to use. It could not be otherwise if we consider what this program does.

Pluses: It is free and brings a little color to your folders.

Drawbacks / flaws: No refresh button and to few features.

In conclusion: It is a very simple program doing an interesting job and I think that you might try it even if only for fun.
